A man has been taken to a major trauma centre following a serious road traffic collision on Brentwood Road this afternoon.
The incident occurred at approximately 12.36pm on Wednesday 7 August 2025, prompting a large emergency services response. Two ambulance crews and two solo paramedics from the London Ambulance Service (LAS) were dispatched to the scene.
“We treated a patient at the scene and took him to a major trauma centre as a priority,” a spokesperson for LAS said. “Our first paramedic arrived in under four minutes.”
The condition of the patient has not yet been confirmed, but the swift emergency response indicates that the injuries were serious.
Traffic Disruption and Bus Diversions
Brentwood Road remains partially blocked in both directions near the junction with Cavenham Gardens, with very slow traffic and ongoing delays reported throughout the afternoon.
Transport for London (TfL) has confirmed detours for bus routes 165 and 294, with several stops suspended in both directions:
Westbound (towards Romford):
- Bus stops between ‘The Drill Roundabout’ and ‘Brentwood Road’ are not in service.
Eastbound (towards Gidea Park / Harold Hill):
- Bus stops from ‘Romford Station’ to ‘Salisbury Road’ are currently not being served.
TfL has advised passengers to allow extra travel time and check live service updates before setting out.
Investigation Underway
It is not yet known how the collision occurred or whether other vehicles were involved. Police have not yet issued a formal statement. Recovery crews are believed to be at the scene.
Motorists are urged to avoid the area if possible and use alternative routes until the road is fully reopened.
