Man Rushed to Hospital After Stabbing in West Ham Park, Newham
Overview
A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a stabbing in West Ham Park, Newham, this morning.
Emergency services were called to the Upton Lane entrance of the park at around 10.49am on Tuesday, July 29, after receiving reports of an assault involving a bladed weapon.
Major Police Presence and Park Closure
Metropolitan Police officers and London Ambulance Service (LAS) crews rushed to the scene, where a man was found injured.
A LAS spokesperson said:
"We sent resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, a paramedic from our tactical response unit, and clinical team managers."We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance. We treated a man at the scene and took him to a major trauma centre by road."
His condition remains unknown, and the investigation is ongoing.
West Ham Park Closed Until Further Notice
The City of London Corporation, which manages the park, confirmed the closure shortly before midday:
"Due to a police incident that occurred this morning (29 July), West Ham Park is currently closed and will remain closed until further notice.
We appreciate your understanding and will share updates as they become available."
