Two Charged After Man Injured in Rochester Nightclub Attack
Two suspects have been charged following a violent assault at a Rochester nightclub that left a man injured and hospitalised.
The incident occurred in the smoking area of the Casino Rooms, a popular nightlife venue on Blue Boar Lane, between 2.30am and 2.50am on Sunday, 20 July 2025.
Victim Sustains Cuts in Alleged Weapon Attack
A man in his 30s was reportedly assaulted with a weapon while in the outdoor area of the club. Emergency services were called to the scene and the victim was taken to hospital with cuts, but has since been discharged.
Arrests and Charges
- Lenny Smith, 22, of Winchelsea Road, Chatham
- A 17-year-old boy from Medway (who cannot be named due to legal restrictions)
Both were arrested separately, with Smith detained later the same morning, and the teenager arrested on Wednesday 23 July.
They have now been charged as follows:
- Both with unlawful wounding
- Teenager only:
- Inflicting grievous bodily harm (GBH)
- Possession of a knife in a public place
The suspects were remanded in custody and appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 25 July.
Police Appeal
Detectives are continuing to appeal for information and urge witnesses who haven’t come forward to do so.
Kent Police said:
“We believe there may still be individuals who saw the incident or events leading up to it. Any piece of information could assist our ongoing investigation.”
