Driver Escapes Serious Injury After Car Flips in Chelsfield Lane Crash Orpington
A driver has escaped serious injury after their car flipped onto its side during a road traffic collision in Chelsfield Lane, Orpington, late on Wednesday night (24 July).

Emergency services were called to the scene at 11:51pm, where a blue Toyota Yaris had rolled onto its side near the junction with Petten Road. The road was closed in both directions while London Fire Brigade crews worked to free the trapped driver.

Emergency Response and Rescue
Firefighters used a specialist Tirfor winch to safely bring the vehicle back onto its wheels. The driver was freed at the scene and assessed by London Ambulance Service medics. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported.

Metropolitan Police officers also attended and managed traffic while diversions were put in place for the R9 bus route.
Road Closure and Diversion
- Chelsfield Lane was fully closed at the junction with Petten Road from 11:51pm.
- The closure was cleared by 12:21am.
