Collision Shuts Down West India Dock Road in E14 — Major Police Investigation Underway
A man has tragically died following a serious road traffic collision on West India Dock Road in East London tonight.
Emergency services were called just before 11pm to reports of a serious incident involving a pedestrian and a vehicle. Despite the best efforts of London Ambulance Service paramedics and police officers, the man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Road Closures & Diversions
The southbound carriageway of West India Dock Road is completely blocked while Specialist Collision Investigators from Chadwell Heath and the Metropolitan Police Roads Death Investigation Team carry out a full forensic investigation.
The closure is expected to remain in place for at least six hours, with traffic being diverted via:

Transport for London has issued Diversion Reference D80315, urging commuters and drivers to plan ahead and avoid the area if possible.
Community Shocked
Local residents took to social media to express concern and grief. One user, posting in a Canary Wharf community group, said:
“There’s so many ambulances, support units and police around Limehouse and up to Poplar. All buses on diversion. Anyone know why?”

Another added:
“Someone is deceased apparently. Someone in this group or another posted the deceased on the floor covered by a blanket. Very disrespectful and disturbing.”
Police Appeal
We have reached out to the Metropolitan Police for an official statement. Officers are expected to confirm the identity of the victim once formal procedures are completed and next of kin are informed.
