Man Guilty of Murder After Transporting Dismembered Bodies from London to Bristol

A man who transported dismembered human remains in suitcases from Shepherd’s Bush, west London, to Bristol has been found guilty of murdering two men in a case described by detectives as “one of the most disturbing” they have ever faced.

Yostin Andres Mosquera, 35, of Scotts Road, Shepherd’s Bush, was convicted at Woolwich Crown Court on Monday 21 July of murdering Paul Longworth, 71, and Albert Alfonso, 62, at their shared home on 8 July 2024.

The victims, a couple who had been together for decades, had welcomed Mosquera into their home. In return, he brutally murdered them—killing Paul first with a hammer, then murdering Albert during a filmed encounter later that day.

“A brutal, callous act”

Detective Chief Inspector Ollie Stride, who led the investigation, said:

“This was a brutal, callous act. Paul and Albert were kind, loving individuals who did not deserve this.
The depravity shown by Mosquera was extraordinary and chilling. I hope today’s verdict brings some measure of justice to the victims’ loved ones.”

Suitcases, surveillance, and a freezer

Mosquera was caught on camera two days after the killings, acting suspiciously near the Clifton Suspension Bridge in Bristol while carrying two heavy suitcases. A concerned resident alerted police, who later discovered human remains inside.

An address label on one of the bags led officers to the couple’s home in west London, where they found further gruesome evidence—including the decapitated heads of the victims inside a hallway freezer.

Digital forensics uncovered Mosquera had:

Relationship turned fatal

Mosquera had developed a personal relationship with Albert, which Paul had tolerated. Police believe jealousy, control, and financial motive led to the horrific sequence of events.

He was arrested in Bristol on 13 July 2024, just days after the murders. Although Mosquera admitted to killing Albert, he denied murdering Paul and denied premeditation. The jury unanimously found him guilty of both murders.

Sentencing

Mosquera is due to be sentenced at a later hearing in October 2025. He remains in custody.
