A 76-year-old man has tragically died eight days after being involved in a serious road collision between his trike-style motorbike and a Peugeot 208 in Colchester.
The crash occurred at around 8:45am on Thursday, 3 July, on the Northern Approach Road at its junction with Wallace Road. The trike, which had a red trailer attached, collided with a red Peugeot 208.
The man, who was from Clacton-on-Sea, was taken to hospital following the incident but sadly died from his injuries on 11 July, Essex Police confirmed today.
Family Being Supported
Specialist officers are now supporting the man’s family as they come to terms with their loss. The victim has not yet been named publicly.
Police have renewed their appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage, particularly from drivers travelling in the area around the time of the crash.

A spokesperson for Essex Police said:
“We are continuing to investigate the circumstances of this collision and are urging anyone who witnessed it, or who may have relevant dashcam footage, to please get in touch. The collision involved a red Peugeot 208 and a trike-style motorbike with a red trailer.”
