A 25-year-old man has tragically died following a serious three-car collision on Piddinghoe Road, near Lewes, late on Friday night (11 July).
Emergency services were called to the scene at approximately 11:45pm after reports of a crash involving a dark grey Audi, a white Renault Clio, and a white Fiat Panda.
Despite the best efforts of paramedics, the 25-year-old male was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed, and Sussex Police have offered their condolences to the grieving family.
The drivers of the other two vehicles sustained injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment. Their current conditions have not been disclosed.
Investigation Underway
Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the collision, and forensic collision investigators attended the scene overnight. Officers are now appealing to the public for help.
A Sussex Police spokesperson said:
“We are urging anyone who saw what happened or who has dash cam footage from the area around the time of the incident to come forward. This was a tragic event, and we are working to understand exactly how it occurred.”
