Kent Fire and Rescue Service responded to a wildfire incident on Sunday night after receiving reports of trees alight near the A2070, close to Hamstreet in Ashford.
Emergency crews were called at 10:01pm on 6 July and deployed two fire engines along with a Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV) equipped for wildfire response.
Crews Use Fire Fogging Unit to Extinguish Blaze
Firefighters used a specialist fire fogging unit to tackle the flames, which were affecting roadside trees. The blaze was brought under control by shortly after midnight (00:12) on Monday, 7 July.
There were no reported injuries, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Traffic and Safety Reminder
Although the fire did not impact traffic flow significantly, motorists are reminded to drive with caution on rural routes like the A2070, especially during dry weather when vegetation fires are more likely to spread rapidly.
