A person has been taken to hospital after a casualty was reported on the tracks near Chafford Hundred Railway Station at approximately 2:25pm today.
Emergency services, including British Transport Police and paramedics, were called to the scene, and the individual was treated before being transported to hospital for further care. Their condition is currently unknown.
Not Being Treated as Suspicious
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said:
“Officers were called to a report of a casualty on the tracks at around 2.25pm today (2 July) near Chafford Hundred Railway Station.
Officers and paramedics attended, and a person was taken to hospital. The incident is not thought to be suspicious.”
Rail Disruption Between Upminster and Grays
As a result of the incident, all train lines between Upminster and Grays have been closed, causing significant disruption to services in the area.
Greater Anglia and C2C services are among those affected, with delays and cancellations expected until at least 5pm.
Commuters are advised to check National Rail Enquiries or train operator updates before travelling.
