A garden fire on Sittingbourne Road, Maidstone triggered a large emergency response this evening after an electrical fault sparked a blaze that spread across fencing and trees.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called at 5.46pm to reports of a fire in a residential garden. Four fire engines were sent to the scene, with crews wearing breathing apparatus using high-pressure hose reel jets and main jets to bring the flames under control.
The fire is believed to have started in a pool pump, which caught alight due to an electrical fault, rapidly spreading to nearby fencing, trees, and a garden shed.
