Kent Fire and Rescue Service responded to a woodland fire this afternoon (Sunday 29 June) in Joyden’s Wood, Dartford.
Crews were called just after 4:09pm to Summerhouse Drive, where flames had broken out within the wooded area.
Firefighting Response
Two fire engines, a Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV) and a wildfire response van were sent to the scene. Firefighters quickly got the blaze under control using high-pressure hose reel jets.
No Injuries Reported
There are no reported injuries, and the cause of the fire remains unknown at this stage.
A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said:
“Crews responded swiftly and worked to extinguish the fire in the woodland using hose reel jets. The situation was brought under control by 4:55pm.

With warm and dry conditions persisting across Kent, fire officials are again urging the public to avoid lighting fires in or near wooded areas.
