A man has sadly died following an early morning emergency on the undercliff path between Ovingdean and Rottingdean, Sussex Police have confirmed.
Emergency services were called at around 6.10am on Thursday, 20 June, to reports of concern for a man’s welfare on the coastal path.
Emergency Response
Paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service responded swiftly and attempted to treat the man at the scene. Despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigation Underway
Sussex Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death. Officers have confirmed that the man’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported.
A police spokesperson said:
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident.”
Witness Appeal
Police are asking members of the public who may have been in the area at the time to come forward.
