A woman has been charged with murder following the death of 69-year-old Jennifer Abbott in Camden.
Nancy Pexton, 69, of Gloucester Place, Westminster, was formally charged with murder on Friday, 20 June. She has been remanded in custody and is set to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on the same day.
The charge follows a police investigation launched after London Ambulance Service responded to reports of an unresponsive woman at a residential address on Mornington Place, Camden, at approximately 6pm on Friday, 13 June.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police attended the scene and found the victim with stab injuries. Despite emergency treatment, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The woman was later identified as Jennifer Abbott, aged 69. Her family has been informed and is being supported by specialist officers.
A post-mortem examination carried out on Sunday, 15 June confirmed the cause of death as sharp force trauma.
