A 66-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of 69-year-old Jennifer Abbott, who was found with fatal stab injuries at her home in Mornington Place, Camden.
The arrest was made on Wednesday, 18 June and the suspect remains in police custody, the Metropolitan Police confirmed.
Victim Identified as Jennifer Abbott
Jennifer Abbott, who was known in the Camden community and often seen walking her dog, was last seen by neighbours on Tuesday, 10 June. Emergency services were called to her home by the London Ambulance Service at 6pm on Friday, 13 June, where she was found unresponsive with stab wounds.
She was pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem examination conducted on Sunday, 15 June confirmed the cause of death as sharp force trauma.

Detective Inspector Barry Hart of Homicide Command, Specialist Crime North, said:
“Our deepest sympathies are with the victim’s loved ones who are being supported by specialist officers at this time.
We thank the local community for their patience as we continue to investigate this shocking crime. This arrest marks a significant step forward.
Locals can expect to see an increased police presence in the area while we conduct our enquiries.”

Police are urging anyone with information or who may have seen anything suspicious around Mornington Place between 10 and 13 June to come forward.
