A 12-year-old girl has been charged after a 13-year-old boy was stabbed on Downham Way in Bromley, southeast London.
The Metropolitan Police were called at 5:16pm on Thursday, June 12, following reports of a stabbing. Officers and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service responded quickly to the scene, where they found the teenage boy suffering from stab wounds.
He was treated at the scene and transported to hospital. Police say his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
A 12-year-old girl from the Lewisham area was arrested shortly after the incident. She has now been formally charged with wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon.
Due to her age, she cannot be identified under UK law.
The girl was scheduled to appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, June 14, to answer the charges.
The motive for the stabbing has not been released. Police enquiries remain ongoing.

Officers are urging anyone who was in the Downham Way area around the time of the incident and may have seen anything suspicious to come forward.
