Five people have been arrested in Marden, near Maidstone, following a major police raid that uncovered large quantities of drugs, ammunition, and suspected burglary equipment.
The operation, carried out by Kent Police on 31 May 2025, targeted a site near the A229 Staplehurst Road as part of an investigation into the supply of illegal drugs in rural west Kent.
Suspect Tried to Dump Evidence in Pond
When officers arrived at the site, it is alleged that one suspect threw several parcels into a pond, which were later retrieved by police. These parcels were found to contain cocaine and ammunition, including shotgun cartridges and ball bearings.

Seized a burglary kit, including balaclavas, gloves, and power tools

Arrests and Charges
Five individuals were arrested in connection with the raid:

A local 50-year-old man on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cocaine

A woman in her 30s from Tonbridge on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of cocaine

A local woman in her 40s on suspicion of manufacturing ammunition

Two men in their 20s from Orpington and Swanscombe on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and going equipped for burglary
All five have been released on bail pending further enquiries.

A Kent Police spokesperson said:
“This proactive operation is part of our ongoing effort to disrupt drug supply networks and associated criminal activity in rural Kent. Investigations are continuing.”
Authorities are urging anyone with information relating to drug activity or suspicious behaviour in the Marden area to come forward.
