Driver in his 60s dies after vehicle leaves coastbound carriageway near Junction 9
Kent Police have launched an investigation after a fatal collision involving a lorry on the M20 near Ashford, prompting a public appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage.
Incident Details
The crash occurred at around 3.16pm on Thursday, 5 June 2025, on the coastbound slip road at Junction 9 of the M20.
Emergency services, including South East Coast Ambulance Service and Kent Fire and Rescue Service, attended the scene where a lorry had left the carriageway.
Despite their efforts, the driver of the vehicle – a man in his 60s – was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
Police Investigation Underway
Officers from Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) have launched a full enquiry into the circumstances leading to the crash.
“We are seeking any information or footage that could help us establish how this tragic incident occurred,” a spokesperson said.
