Metropolitan Police detectives have launched a murder investigation following the fatal stabbing of a 26-year-old woman in Croydon on Saturday morning. Officers were called to Frith Road at approximately 9.07am on 31 May, where paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
Victim Named as Marjama Osman
The victim has been named as Marjama Osman, a local resident of Croydon. While formal identification is yet to be completed, authorities confirmed that her family has been informed and is being supported by specially trained officers.
Two Arrests Made, Suspects Released on Bail
A 33-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder, followed by the arrest of a 32-year-old man on 1 June. Both individuals have since been released on bail as the Specialist Crime Command continues its investigation.
Detectives believe Marjama was attacked inside a property on Frith Road before collapsing outside, where emergency services found her.
Public Appeal for Witnesses
Detective Chief Inspector Dave Whellams, who is leading the investigation, said:
“We appreciate the concern this tragic incident has caused. Marjama was assaulted inside an address on Frith Road before collapsing on the street. Anyone who saw or heard anything should contact police immediately.”
Police are urging anyone with information or dashcam footage from the area between 08:30 and 09:30 BST on Saturday to come forward.
