Andrew Tate and Tristan Tate have confirmed, through their lawyer, that they intend to return to the UK to face serious criminal charges once legal proceedings in Romania conclude.
Lawyer Confirms Extradition Plans
In a statement released on Thursday, Andrew Ford, legal representative for the Tate brothers, said:
"The Tates will return to face UK allegations following the conclusion of ongoing proceedings in Romania."
The statement comes amid mounting legal pressure as both brothers face multiple international allegations, including rape, human trafficking, and actual bodily harm.
UK Charges: Details of Allegations
According to Bedfordshire Police, Andrew Tate, 38, faces 10 charges, including:
-
Rape
-
Actual bodily harm (ABH)
-
Human trafficking
The offences are said to involve three women and reportedly occurred between 2012 and 2015.
His brother, Tristan Tate, 36, faces 11 charges related to one woman, including:
-
Rape
-
Actual bodily harm
-
Human trafficking
Both men “unequivocally deny” the charges, according to their legal team.
An international arrest warrant was issued by Bedfordshire Police, and extradition proceedings are expected once Romanian court processes conclude.
Romanian Investigations Ongoing
The brothers are currently involved in separate criminal proceedings in Romania, where they are:
-
Accused of trafficking minors,
-
Alleged to have had sexual intercourse with a minor,
-
Under investigation for money laundering,
-
Facing charges in a human trafficking and organised crime case involving the alleged sexual exploitation of women.
That latter case has been sent back to Romanian prosecutors for review, causing delays in final judgments.
What Happens Next?
Prosecutors in the UK have submitted a formal extradition request to Romanian authorities. The Tate brothers’ legal team insists their clients will cooperate with the British judicial process once Romanian legal proceedings conclude.
The full details of the UK charges, which were authorised in January 2024, have only now been made public. The case is expected to garner significant public attention upon their return.
