A man has been arrested just hours after allegedly sexually assaulting a young woman outside Cardiff Central station, British Transport Police (BTP) have confirmed.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning (May 25), prompting a swift investigation by BTP officers.
The suspect reportedly attempted to evade capture by changing his clothes, but was quickly tracked and apprehended by what BTP described as their “eagle-eyed officers.”
Police Praise Swift Action
A BTP spokesperson said on social media:
“A man was arrested on Sunday morning just hours after sexually assaulting a young woman outside Cardiff station.
He tried to evade us by changing his clothes, but there’s no escaping our eagle-eyed officers.”
Public Safety Reminder
British Transport Police also reminded the public that they can be contacted via text on 61016 to report incidents discreetly.
“Don’t forget – we’re on 61016 if you need us,” BTP added.
The suspect remains in custody, and further updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
