An elderly man has been taken to a major trauma centre after being injured in a serious road traffic collision in Hornchurch this morning.
Emergency services were called to Station Lane at 8.40am on Wednesday (May 22) following reports of a crash.
Emergency Response
The London Ambulance Service (LAS) confirmed that they sent an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car, and an advanced paramedic to the scene.
“We treated an elderly patient at the scene for a leg injury and took him to a major trauma centre as a priority.”
Road Closures and Travel Disruption
Station Lane remains closed in both directions between Kenilworth Gardens (Hornchurch Station) and Suttons Avenue, causing significant traffic delays in the area.
Transport for London has confirmed that bus routes 193, 252, and 256 are currently being diverted due to the ongoing road closure.
Ongoing Investigation
Police have not yet confirmed the cause of the collision or whether any other vehicles or individuals were involved. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and plan alternative routes.
Live updates and travel guidance are being shared through local channels as emergency services continue to manage the scene.
