Emergency services rushed to St Peter’s Road in Croydon after reports of a serious flat fire late on Friday night (May 16).
Crews from the London Fire Brigade responded to the blaze at St Peter’s Road in Croydon just before midnight. Firefighters reported “persons reported” at the scene and swiftly entered the building to lead one occupant to safety.
One Treated at Scene for Smoke Inhalation
Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service treated a person at the scene for smoke inhalation. It is understood the individual was rescued directly from the affected flat by fire crews wearing breathing apparatus.
The patient’s condition is currently unknown, but they were not believed to be seriously injured at the time of treatment.
Fire Investigation Underway
A fire investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the blaze, which ignited in a residential flat. Firefighters managed to contain the fire and are continuing with post-incident checks and safety assessments.
A source for the London Fire Brigade at the scene confirmed that crews from local stations attended and brought the fire under control promptly.
