Ilford police pursuit ends in hospitalisation and arrest
A dramatic police pursuit unfolded in Green Lane, Ilford, on Thursday, May 15, after Metropolitan Police officers identified a vehicle believed to be stolen. The incident led to a series of collisions before the suspect was arrested and taken to hospital.
At approximately 11:15am, officers approached the stationary vehicle, which then rammed the police car before fleeing the scene. A pursuit ensued during which the vehicle collided with several stationary and moving vehicles.
Suspect hospitalised after multiple collisions
The driver of the suspect vehicle, a man in his 40s, was eventually stopped and arrested. He was taken to hospital where he remains under medical care. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing, police confirmed.
