Motorists travelling through the Dartford Crossing are being urged to plan ahead, as week-long overnight closures are expected to cause significant travel disruption between Monday, May 12 and Monday, May 19.
The closures, part of a scheduled maintenance and resurfacing programme, will affect both northbound and southbound lanes of the A282 — including the West Tunnel and QEII Bridge exit slip roads — with diversions in place via the National Highways network.

Why It Matters
The Dartford Crossing is a vital link over the Thames between Dartford (Kent) and Thurrock (Essex), serving over 180,000 vehicles per day. Disruption could significantly affect commuters, hauliers, and regional logistics.
