A man has been taken to hospital with a head injury following a fight in Leicester Square, one of the capital’s busiest tourist hotspots.
The incident unfolded at around 4:09pm on Saturday, May 10, prompting an emergency response from the Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service. Officers cordoned off part of the square as crowds gathered to watch medics attend to the injured man.
The victim, believed to be in his 40s, was treated at the scene before being transported to hospital. His injuries have since been confirmed as non-life threatening.
A man in his 30s was arrested at the scene on suspicion of grievous bodily harm (GBH) and remains in police custody.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said:
“Officers were called at 4.09pm to reports of an altercation in Leicester Square. A man in his 40s was treated at the scene by the London Ambulance Service and taken to hospital. His injuries are non-life threatening. One man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of GBH and remains in custody.”
