Kent Police are appealing for witnesses after significant damage was caused to the grounds of Gore Court Cricket Club in Sittingbourne on the evening of Monday, 28 April 2025.
At approximately 10pm, a group of individuals riding quad bikes and electric bicycles reportedly entered the cricket field at The Grove, damaging four separate pitches in what is believed to be a deliberate act of vandalism.
The offenders are suspected to have accessed the field from the Key Street area and were later seen leaving in the direction of Andrews Walk.
Ongoing Investigation and Appeal for Footage
Kent Police officers attended the scene and launched an investigation, with forensic and local enquiries currently underway. Authorities are now calling on members of the public to assist with the investigation by sharing any relevant CCTV, doorbell camera, or dashcam footage that may have captured the incident or the offenders’ movements.
A Kent Police spokesperson said:
“We take incidents of criminal damage seriously, especially when they affect valued community facilities such as sports clubs. We urge anyone who saw the vehicles in the area or has footage to come forward.”
