A 38-year-old man who was being investigated by counter-terrorism officers following a horrifying weapons attack in Leeds has died in hospital, police have confirmed.
The man, identified as Owen Lawrence from Leeds, was detained after an incident involving a crossbow and a firearm that left two women, aged 19 and 31, with serious injuries on Saturday, April 26.
Incident Overview
Police were called to Otley Road in Headingley, Leeds, following reports of a “serious incident involving a man seen with weapons,” according to West Yorkshire Police.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the suspect with self-inflicted injuries. Despite medical intervention, he was pronounced dead in hospital.
The two women injured in the attack were rushed to hospital, where they continue to receive treatment for their serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
