Emergency services responded this afternoon to a house fire in Cliftonville, Margate, sparking a major operation by Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS).
Crews were called to the scene at around 3:42pm on Monday, April 28, following reports of a property ablaze. Four fire engines were quickly deployed to the incident site.
Firefighters, equipped with breathing apparatus, worked swiftly to contain and extinguish the fire using high-pressure hose reel jets. Thanks to their rapid response, the fire was brought under control and prevented from spreading further.
The KFRS Volunteer Response Team was also in attendance, providing vital welfare support to both residents and emergency crews during the operation.
Fortunately, no injuries have been reported. However, the cause of the fire remains unknown at this time, and a full investigation is expected to take place.
A spokesperson for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said:
Four fire engines attended a house fire in Cliftonville, Margate. Crews wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to extinguish the flames. The Volunteer Response Team provided welfare support. There were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.”
Local residents were advised to stay clear of the area while firefighting operations were underway, and some roads around the immediate vicinity were temporarily closed.
