Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was seriously sexually assaulted in broad daylight in the Devon village of Uffculme last week.
The incident occurred at around 3.40pm on Friday, April 18, prompting a swift response from officers following reports of a serious sexual assault.
Detectives from Exeter CID are now urging the public to help identify two boys seen cycling near the scene, who they believe may have witnessed the attack or hold crucial information that could aid the investigation.
The pair were reportedly riding bikes on a bridge or footpath near Bridge Street between 3.30pm and 3.45pm, around the time of the reported assault.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
In a public statement, Devon and Cornwall Police said:
“Detectives from Exeter CID would like to speak with [the boys] as they may hold vital information to assist with enquiries.
They are also keen to hear from any other witnesses who have not yet spoken to police.”

Arrest Made
Police have confirmed that an 18-year-old man from Tiverton was arrested in connection with the incident. He was taken into custody on suspicion of:
- Rape
- Sexual assault on a female
- Malicious communications
The suspect has since been released on bail until July, while investigations continue.
