A major police incident in West Drayton saw Falling Lane closed in both directions this afternoon (Tuesday, April 23), after an alleged assault in Yiewsley Recreation Ground.
Emergency services were called to the scene around 2.10pm, with a large police presence and cordon spotted inside the park. Falling Lane remains closed between High Street and Otterfield Road, causing traffic disruption and bus diversions on routes U1, U3 and U5.
According to the Metropolitan Police, a 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm (GBH) and affray after allegedly assaulting another man in his 30s. The victim suffered injuries to his leg and abdomen, which are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing. The suspect sustained facial injuries and both men were taken to hospital.
Police say the two individuals are believed to be known to each other, and there is no threat to the wider public.
