A man in his twenties has been seriously injured following a shooting in the Manningham area of Bradford late Sunday night.
The incident occurred shortly after 10pm in a car park off Oak Lane near Victor Street, following what police described as a verbal altercation involving several males.
West Yorkshire Police were alerted by the ambulance service after the victim arrived at hospital with a gunshot wound. While his injuries are serious, police have confirmed they are not believed to be life-threatening.
Attempted Murder Investigation Underway
Detectives from the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team are now leading the investigation and have launched an attempted murder probe.
A crime scene remains in place on Oak Lane as forensic teams and investigators continue their work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Detective Inspector Suzanne Hall, who is heading the case, said:
“This was a serious firearms offence, and we are treating it with the utmost seriousness. We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information that could assist our enquiries to come forward.
“We understand that incidents like this cause concern in the community, and I want to reassure residents that we are doing everything possible to investigate and bring those responsible to justice.”
