A 44-year-old Northampton man has appeared in court charged with child sex offences, stalking police officers on social media and perverting the course of justice.
Simon Tilley, of Branksome Avenue, Kingsthorpe Hollow, appeared before Stafford Crown Court today (April 17) charged with:
- One count of attempting to cause a child aged 13 to 15 to watch/look at an image of sexual activity on June 4, 2021.
- One count of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child between June 6, 2021 and July 1, 2021.
- One count of possessing extreme pornographic image/images portraying an act of intercourse/oral sex with a dead/alive animal on December 12, 2022.
- Three counts of stalking with intent to cause serious distress under Section 4A of the Protection from Harassment Act 1997 in 2024.
- Three counts of perverting the course of justice between March 2024 and December 2024.
Tilley pleaded not guilty to all nine charges and was released on court bail pending a trial at Stafford Crown Court on May 18, 2026.
As part of his bail conditions, Tilley is prohibited from contacting any of the police officers involved in the case or posting anything on online relating to the criminal proceedings he is subject to.
