A man in his 20s is in hospital with serious injuries following a stabbing in Accrington town centre during the early hours of Saturday morning.
Emergency services were called shortly after 4:00am on 12 April, after the North West Ambulance Service reported a man had been assaulted and sustained multiple stab wounds. The victim was rushed to hospital, where he remains in a serious but stable condition. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Police Investigation Underway
Lancashire Police have launched a major investigation into the incident, which they believe was sparked by an altercation around 3:25am involving the victim and several men in the areas of Eagle Street, Ormerod Street, and Scaitcliffe Street.
Three men—aged 18, 20, and 23—have been arrested in connection with the assault and are currently in custody.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said:
“We are treating this as a targeted attack and are doing everything we can to identify exactly what happened and who was involved. We have stepped up patrols in the area to provide reassurance to the public.”

Officers are appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity of Eagle Street, Ormerod Street, or Scaitcliffe Street between 3:00am and 4:00am to come forward with any information.
Police are particularly keen to hear from drivers, including taxi operators, who may have dashcam footage of the area during that time. Residents and businesses with CCTV are also being asked to review their footage for anything that could assist the investigation.
