Detectives investigating a sexual assault on a train from Paddington to Oxford have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to identify in connection with the incident.
Incident Details
The assault occurred on Thursday, 6 March, at approximately 11:30 pm, on the 11:14 pm train departing from Paddington Station and heading towards Oxford.
According to reports, a man walked down the carriage and attempted to sit next to a woman in her 20s. He then proceeded to sexually assault her.
After the initial assault, the man stood nearby, staring at the victim before assaulting her a second time. The woman, understandably shaken, later reported the incident to the police.
CCTV Image Released
In an effort to identify the suspect, police have released a CCTV image captured on board the train. Officers are urging anyone who recognizes the man or has any information to come forward.
Police Appeal for Information
A spokesperson from the British Transport Police said:
“This was a deeply distressing incident for the victim, and we are doing everything we can to find the person responsible. We are appealing to anyone who was on the train at the time, or who may recognize the individual from the CCTV image, to contact us immediately.”
The suspect is described as being of average build, with short dark hair, and was wearing a dark jacket at the time of the incident.
