Detectives are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Morden earlier this month.
The incident occurred on Monday, March 3, at around 6:51 pm on Green Lane. Police were called to reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian. Despite the efforts of the London Ambulance Service and officers at the scene, the pedestrian, identified as 49-year-old Sinnathamby Karunakaran, sadly died at the location.

Specialist officers from the Metropolitan Police are supporting Mr. Karunakaran’s family during this difficult time. Detective Constable Caroline Landy of the Roads & Transport Unit, who is leading the investigation, expressed condolences, stating:

Appeal for Information
DC Landy has urged anyone who was in the area of Green Lane between 6:35 pm and 6:50 pm to come forward, particularly if they were commuting home or passing through the area. She emphasized the importance of any potential dashcam or doorbell camera footage that might have captured the incident.
“We believe that there may be witnesses who have yet to come forward. No matter how small, anyone with any information is urged to contact us immediately,” DC Landy added.

The driver of the vehicle involved stopped at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. No arrests have been made at this time, and inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the collision.
