A major fire has erupted at an industrial estate on Sett End Road West in Blackburn, sending massive flames and thick black smoke billowing across the town. The blaze broke out in the early hours of Monday, March 31, 2025, prompting a swift response from Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service.
Residents Urged to Stay Indoors
Authorities have urged local residents to keep windows and doors closed due to the heavy smoke and to avoid the area entirely as firefighters battle the intense inferno. Nearby roads, including Haslingden Road, have been cordoned off as emergency crews work to contain the fire.
The Royal Blackburn Hospital, located nearby, remains open despite the proximity to the blaze. However, the Lancashire Police have set up roadblocks to manage traffic and ensure public safety.
