Police in Blackheath have launched an investigation after a person was stabbed on an overnight bus in the early hours of Sunday morning. The incident took place on Stratheden Road, SE3, just outside a The Pointers private school, around 4:30 am at the junction with the busy A2.
Emergency services were called to the scene, where officers provided first aid to the victim before paramedics from the London Ambulance Service arrived.
The injured person was subsequently rushed to a major trauma centre. The condition of the victim is not currently known.
The bus involved in the incident remains cordoned off, and the bus stop itself is also within the police perimeter.
Officers have secured both ends of Stratheden Road as they continue to conduct forensic examinations and gather evidence.
Local bus services, including routes 108, 286, and 335, are currently on diversion due to the ongoing police investigation.
