A man has been arrested after a knife was found during a stop and search operation in Dagenham this afternoon.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police stopped two individuals near Martins Corner at approximately 3.15pm on Friday, 28 March.
During the search, a knife was reportedly recovered, leading to the arrest of one male at the scene. The second individual was not detained.
Police Statement
In a statement, a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said:
“Two individuals were stopped in the vicinity of Martins Corner, Dagenham at around 3.15pm on Friday, 28 March.
During a search, a knife was recovered and one male was arrested.
Enquiries are ongoing.”
The identity of the suspect has not yet been released and the investigation remains in its early stages.
This arrest forms part of the Met’s ongoing efforts to tackle knife crime and improve public safety across London boroughs.
