A serious crash on the A120 near Stansted Airport has caused severe disruption this morning (Friday, March 28), with the road completely closed in both directions since around 5.30am.
The incident occurred on Thremhall Avenue, a key route for traffic travelling to and from the airport, resulting in significant congestion in the surrounding area.
Traffic and Diversions
The crash is affecting westbound traffic, with delays stretching back to the Dunmow Bypass. A diversion route has been set up via the Bassingbourn Roundabout to help ease congestion, but traffic remains very slow through the area.
EssexLive has reported that the road closure remains in place, and there is currently no official estimate for when the route will reopen.
Emergency Services Response
Essex Police and the East of England Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment, and details of any injuries or the vehicles involved in the crash have yet to be confirmed.
Drivers are urged to avoid the area if possible and to follow diversion signs in place.
