A person has tragically died after falling from a height near Heron Tower in Liverpool Street, central London, this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to Bishopsgate, just outside the landmark skyscraper, at 2.07pm on Wednesday, March 27, following reports that someone had fallen from the building.
City of London Police and London Ambulance Service crews attended the scene, but despite their efforts, the individual was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Death Treated as Non-Suspicious
A spokesperson for the City of London Police confirmed:
“Officers were called at 2.07pm to reports of a person fallen from height on Bishopsgate in the City of London.
Sadly, they were pronounced dead at the scene by London Ambulance Service crews.
The next of kin has been informed and officers are providing support.
The death is being treated as non-suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
The area around Heron Tower was cordoned off for several hours while emergency services responded to the incident. The person’s identity has not yet been released publicly.
