Kent Police have launched a renewed appeal for information after a man in his 30s tragically died following a serious collision on the A249 near Stockbury.
The incident, which took place at around 10.05pm on Tuesday, 25 February 2025, involved a silver Land Rover Discovery and a black BMW 1 Series near the Chalky Road junction.
Emergency services, including the South East Coast Ambulance Service and Kent Fire and Rescue Service, responded to the scene. A passenger from the BMW sustained critical injuries and was airlifted to hospital, where he sadly died a month later on Tuesday, 25 March.
The driver of the Land Rover, a man in his 40s, was also taken to hospital with serious injuries but has since been discharged.
Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash and is urging witnesses to come forward.
Witnesses Urged to Help
Officers are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who saw the black BMW travelling from the M20 junction 7 roundabout, up Detling Hill towards Sittingbourne, prior to the crash. They are also appealing to those who may have seen the silver Land Rover travelling in the opposite direction before using the slip road to the Chalky Road junction.

Police continue to support the victim’s family as the investigation remains ongoing.
