Emergency services were called to a serious incident at Camden Town Underground Station this morning after reports of a person under a train on Platform One.
The incident occurred shortly after 8:00am on Thursday, 27 March. Transport for London confirmed that services on the Northern Line were suspended through the area as emergency responders rushed to the scene.
London Ambulance Service and British Transport Police attended alongside London Fire Brigade units. London’s Air Ambulance also dispatched specialist trauma doctors to the station due to the potential severity of the person’s injuries. As of 8:36am, the extent of the injuries remains unknown.
A spokesperson for the British Transport Police said:
“We were called to Camden Town Underground Station at 8:04am on Thursday, 27 March, following reports of a casualty on the tracks. Emergency services, including London’s Air Ambulance, remain at the scene. The person is being treated and further updates will follow.”
Camden Town Station was closed while paramedics and emergency crews worked on site. Significant travel disruption was reported on the Northern Line, with commuters urged to avoid the area and check for updates before travelling.
Witnesses described the scene as chaotic, with the station being quickly evacuated and services halted. “There were so many emergency workers. It was really distressing,” said one commuter.
No further details about the individual involved have been released, and it remains unclear whether the incident was accidental or deliberate.
