Emergency services rushed to Pimlico Underground Station late on Saturday evening after a person was reported under a train on the southbound platform.
The incident occurred at Platform 2 of the Victoria Line station on Bessborough Street, London Transport for London (TfL) confirmed that the incident involved a train heading southbound, resulting in immediate service disruption and the station being temporarily closed to passengers.
London Ambulance Service and British Transport Police (BTP) attended the scene, alongside fire and rescue crews, to assist with the emergency response and recovery efforts.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said:
“Officers were called to Pimlico Underground Station following reports of a person under a train. Emergency services remain at the scene, and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances.”
The condition of the individual involved has not yet been confirmed.
Delays and Disruption on the Victoria Line
TfL issued a statement advising passengers to expect significant delays on the Victoria Line, particularly in the southbound direction, as emergency services carry out their work.
Passengers are being urged to avoid the area and check for travel updates before continuing their journeys.
TfL said:
“We are working closely with emergency services following an incident at Pimlico Station. Our thoughts are with those affected, and we apologise to passengers for the disruption.”
The station remains closed while the investigation continues, and alternative travel arrangements are being advised for commuters in the area.
