A man has died following a serious collision on the M25 near Orpington, prompting a police appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage to assist in the investigation.
The incident occurred at approximately 9.55pm on Friday, 21 March, on the clockwise carriageway between junctions 3 and 4, as a silver BMW Z4 was travelling in the direction of Sevenoaks.
According to Kent Police, the BMW left the motorway on the nearside verge before returning to the carriageway, where it came to a stop. A short time later, it was struck by a blue Nissan Note, also heading in the same direction.
Driver Pronounced Dead at the Scene
Emergency services rushed to the scene, but the driver of the BMW — a man in his 30s — was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by officers.
The driver of the Nissan Note was assessed at the scene, though further details regarding any additional injuries have not been released at this stage.
Police Launch Investigation and Appeal for Dashcam Footage
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is now underway, led by Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit.
Detectives are urging anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have dashcam footage showing the vehicles involved prior to the incident, to come forward.
