Emergency services have been called to a serious crash on the M6, where a car has overturned and landed on its roof, prompting significant delays for motorists.
The incident occurred on the northbound carriageway between Junction 18 (Middlewich/Holmes Chapel) and Junction 19 (Knutsford). As a result, two lanes have been closed while emergency responders work at the scene.
National Highways has warned drivers to expect delays of up to 45 minutes, with traffic backing up along the affected stretch of the motorway.
Crews from ambulance, fire and police services were dispatched to the scene following the incident, though details about any injuries have not yet been confirmed.

A National Highways spokesperson said:
“Two lanes are currently closed on the M6 northbound between J18 and J19 following a collision that has resulted in a vehicle overturning. There are currently delays of 45 minutes above normal travel time.”
Traffic officers remain on site, managing the flow of vehicles and supporting recovery efforts.
