Two people have been left with potentially serious injuries following a road traffic collision on Cemetery Road at its junction with Park Road, close to a bend that locals say has been the site of previous incidents.
West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed that they were called to the scene at approximately 2.35pm, dispatching two ambulances to provide urgent medical assistance.
Paramedics assessed and treated two patients at the scene, both of whom had suffered ‘potentially serious injuries’ as a result of the crash. They were later taken to hospital for further treatment and assessment. The current condition of the individuals involved has not yet been confirmed.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said:
“We were called to reports of a road traffic collision at the junction of Cemetery Road and Park Road. Two ambulances were sent to the scene. Two patients were treated for potentially serious injuries and conveyed to hospital.”
The circumstances surrounding the collision are still being investigated, and it is not yet clear how many vehicles were involved or what caused the crash.
Local residents have raised concerns about the safety of the bend near the junction, with calls for improved traffic calming measures and clearer signage to help prevent further incidents in the future.
Police have not yet issued a formal statement regarding the collision, but motorists were advised to avoid the area during the emergency response.
