A targeted police operation has led to the seizure of illegal goods and the reporting of a male for unlawful street trading in Pascal Street, SW8, following complaints from local residents.
Officers who are part of theĀ Lambeth North-West in Met Police carried out a morning foot patrol in the area after receiving multiple community concerns about unlicensed trading activity.
During the operation, one male was reported for illegal street trading, and a quantity of goods, including tobacco and cigarettes, was seized by officers. Additional abandoned items were also recovered during the sweep.
Inspector Watson, who oversaw the patrol, confirmed the action via social media, stating: āThe tobacco and cigarettes were found after being abandoned. Weāre committed to responding to community concerns and taking action against unlawful trading.ā
Local residents have welcomed the police response, with many hoping it will act as a deterrent to ongoing street-level offences in the area.
