A moped rider has been taken to hospital following a crash involving a car on the A274 Sutton Road in Langley this afternoon (Wednesday, March 13).
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 1.30pm, near the junction with Leeds Road and The Plough Inn pub, just southeast of Maidstone. Officers from Kent Police attended alongside paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb).
The moped rider sustained leg injuries in the collision and was taken to Tunbridge Wells Hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries has not been confirmed, but they are not believed to be life-threatening.
The road was closed in both directions following the incident, leading to significant traffic disruption in the area. Kent County Council’s Highways department warned motorists to “expect long delays in the area” as emergency services worked at the scene.
A spokesperson for Kent Police said: “Police were called at 1.30pm to a collision in Sutton Road, close to the junction with Leeds Road. The collision involved a car and a moped.”
