An American Airlines flight erupted in flames at Denver International Airport on Thursday evening, prompting terrified passengers to evacuate onto the aircraft’s wings and emergency slides.
The alarming incident occurred while the aircraft was stationed at gate C38. Dramatic footage shared online captured passengers fleeing to the tarmac amid thick smoke and visible flames emerging from the plane.
Emergency responders quickly attended the scene, deploying evacuation slides and ladders to help passengers safely descend from the wing onto the tarmac. Firefighters doused the aircraft with water as smoke billowed from the charred area above the right wing.
The airport confirmed that all passengers were safely evacuated and escorted back into the terminal. The cause of the fire remains unknown, and authorities have not yet confirmed whether any injuries occurred during the incident.
